Readers continue to express best wishes to former Town Councilman Bill Brooks who is battling lymphoma. Brooks, 75, learned earlier this summer he has cancer; since then he’s undergone three of six rounds of chemotherapy set to end in September.
The affable former TV station executive told PBDN deputy news editor Andrew Davis this week the treatments have knocked him on his backside, but says his doctors are confident he’ll get through this challenge.
He recently told me, via reporter William Kelly, that I’m on his prayer list. (I had a recurrence of bladder cancer last winter, but I’m fine now.)
My thoughts and prayers are with you, too, Mr. Brooks.
The health crisis has helped Brooks learn to let go of irritating situations: “It’s really all small stuff,” he told Andrew.
Words to live by.
Good luck, Mr. Brooks.
